The Lord looked and there was no man...so then the Pastor looked and there I was. Wanted:- someone to run "King's Fishers" club for school years 7 and 8, ages 12 to 14. So what do you do - walk away? I think it's just over a year now and I rely heavily on my "assistants" Carol and Ruth who are immensely capable but a male 'presence' was desired so here I am.
It's been very much hit or miss but here's some thoughts, advice and activity suggestions/resources.
Planning - I hate it but it's necessary. There's a saying - If you don't know where you're going then you won't know when you haven't got there. 'Winging' sessions is fatal. Tie in with what's happening.
